Yama, una danza de ángeles

Título: Yama, una danza de ángeles
Autor(es): Guzmán, Rubén Héctor
Abstract: This text presents an evaluative analysis of Yama, considered one of the most significant works in the filmography of Alberto Honik. The author highlights the work's visionary nature, placing it even beyond the aesthetic standards of experimental cinema of its time, both Argentine and international.

Honik, who worked as a physician, links his life experience to the creation of the film: the images he recorded emerged so forcefully from his surroundings that he could not separate his hand from the camera. This union is interpreted in McLuhan's terms as a prosthesis of the gaze, but what emerges from it is not merely a technical extension, but rather images that become organs of perception, possessing an unheard-of nakedness and an almost sacred harmony.

A parallel is drawn with representatives of Absolute Cinema (such as Ruttmann, Eggeling, and Fischinger), as Honik constructs a symphonic visual rhythm in a silent film. Following Michel Chion's question about what we hear from what we see, the text suggests that the images—torn from the flow of life—evoke sounds and music through their rhythmic and precise succession.

Finally, the text underscores the uniqueness of Honik's gaze, comparing it to that of a Tuareg: its beauty lies not in an art conscious of itself, but in the ability to bear witness to a nature that finds, almost by chance, a gaze worthy of it.

Autor(es): Martínez, Roberto Simón; Reinoso, Lucio Gabriel; Roman, Jose Luis; Neffen, Evelyn; Montenegro, Ayelen; Muzi, Enrique; D´Onofrio, Mariano; Zelmer, Hernán; Cerrota, Alfonso
Abstract: Within the Río Negro Basin in Argentina, the area cultivated with maize is approximately 25,000 hectares, with a production of 275,000 tons. Although this represents less than 1% participation at the national level, it is a region where the cultivated area is continuously increasing and constitutes a strategic option as an input for meat production in Argentine Patagonia. The average yield is around 11,000 kg/ha.
As with all crops in this region, maize production requires irrigation to achieve yields (production is null without irrigation). Considering the growing decrease in water availability for irrigation in the region, it is necessary to implement actions aimed at improving the efficiency of water resource use, focusing on maximizing water productivity. In this regard, standardizing the calculation of maize crop irrigation requirements will help increase the efficiency in the use of productive inputs such as water and fertilizers. In this study, the FAO 56 methodology is applied with the support of satellite information in order to validate its use in maize cultivation.

Abstract: Learning communication skills is central in medical education. Clinical simulation provides conditions to foster comprehensive teaching and learning processes, although it is necessary to understand student acceptance as a way to evaluate and improve the strategy. The objective of this study was to analyze the perception of medical students after introducing clinical simulation sessions to optimize the teaching and learning processes of communication skills. The study design is observational, cross-sectional, mixed, and uses census sampling. A survey was conducted through a questionnaire, and a descriptive analysis of the results was performed. The results reveal a generally good perception, where the majority of students highlighted the debriefingspace or final reflection (64.8%), while 27.8% valued clinical simulation as a space for applying knowledge and more than 20% referred to the simulation scenario or the experience with a simulated patient. In conclusion, the most notable space was debriefing as an area for reflection and learning, although other appreciated aspects such as the application of knowledge or the use of a simulated patient are also important in understanding clinical simulation as a tool for learning communication skills

Autor(es): Bellotti, Mariela Inés
Abstract: Social Responsibility is a topic that has been widely debated in recent years in university cloisters, gaining great importance. For this reason, this work describes the actions that the Medicine program of the National University of Río Negro -Andean Headquarters carries out, from the vision and action of the admission team of said program. The research developed is descriptive in nature, non-experimental, with field design; The data collection techniques were the registration of activities, using aspects of ethnography. The results obtained show that dissemination activities increased, enabling greater inclusion of students, in correspondence with the needs and demands of the context. Understanding the responsibility of universities in general, and of the medical career in particular, is that actions related to social responsibility must be sharpened, encouraging the implementation of a greater number of concrete actions to disseminate the career and diversifying the ways to carry themout. The objective of this work is to present the initiatives carried out by the admission team of the Medicine career of the UNRN -Andean Headquarters, focusing on the actions implemented in recent years to promote the career in the region. These initiatives are intended to improve access to information for potential university students, thus facilitating their entry into the UNRN.

Abstract: The Medical Program at the Universidad Nacional de Río Negro – Sede Andina – was established in
2022 and is characterized by an innovative curriculum. The objective of this study was to analyze the
different communication channels through which prospective students became aware of the UNRNAndean Campus Medical Program, as well as the motivations behind their decision to choose it. This
is a quantitative, correlational study based on an online survey administered to applicants who had
completed the virtual stage of the admission course. The survey explored how candidates learned
about the program and the reasons for their choice. The results indicate that outreach efforts have a
direct or indirect impact on future students, with family and friends’ recommendations, traditional
media, and social media standing out as particularly influential. Regarding motivations for choosing
the program, geographic location and institutional identity emerged as key factors in the decisionmaking process. The findings support the idea that a structured and cohesive promotion strategy can
enhance student recruitment, and they also validate the relevance of geographic factors—one of the
foundational arguments for establishing the program in the Andean region

Abstract: This study focuses on knowledge management in public high-er education institutions located in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina, from both theoretical and empirical perspectives. A mixed-method approach was applied, combining documen-tary analysis and a validated questionnaire administered to academic authorities at three institutions. The results show an intermediate level of maturity in knowledge management, with strengths in application and use, and weaknesses in knowledge creation and storage. Notable practices include fac-ulty training and professional autonomy, although deficien-cies persist in information systematization and institutional coordination. The study concludes that the analyzed institu-tions have significant potential to strengthen more effective knowledge management systems, which requires institutional policies, technological investment, and the development of a collaborative organizational culture

Abstract: University outreach, as a core function of higher education alongside teaching and research, has gained increas-ing relevance in recent years. In particular, its formal integration into the curricula of Health Sciences programs—known as extension curricularization—poses a strategic and pedagogical challenge with high transformative po-tential. This study analyzes the implementation of this strategy in the recently created Medicine program at the Andean Campus of the National University of Río Negro, in San Carlos de Bariloche, Argentina, using a mixed-meth-ods design. Institutional documents were examined and surveys were administered to students to assess their perception of the contribution of the Fieldwork course to the learning process. The results show a positive eval-uation, with an average agreement level of 78.4%, reinforcing the effectiveness of the territorial approach as a training tool. However, variations between cohorts and curricular units were observed, indicating the need for a situated pedagogical review. It is concluded that the curricularization of extension supports the comprehensive education of future health professionals by articulating academic knowledge with the social issues of the territory

Título: Successional stages of a Maastrichtian plesiosaur fall community from Antarctica
Autor(es): Talevi, Marianella; Brezina, Soledad Silvana; Lazo, Darío G.
Abstract: Research on ecological successions in recent skeletal remains, such as those of whales, has revealed
specific colonization patterns and four distinct succession phases. These succession patterns can also be
inferred in the fossil record from evidence such as bioerosion traces, bone encrustation, and associated
body fossils. The study of ecological successions in fossil bones of Mesozoic marine reptiles not only
helps to understand the phases of degradation and entombing in the past but also contributes to our
knowledge of the communities associated with these carcasses during that time. In this work, the
presence of sclerobionts (represented by micro and macroborings) in bone remains of a plesiosaur from
the upper Maastrichtian of Antarctica was identified and described, interpreting the phases of ecological
succession in a high-latitude marine environment. Macroborings were assigned to Trypanites and
Osedacoides. The microborings, similar to Wedl tunnels, were attributed to cyanobacteria and fungi,
indicating that the bones were exposed for a long time. Furthermore, framboid pyrite in the bones
shows anaerobic stages associated with bacterial activity. The four known stages of ecological succession were documented: the mobile scavenger stage, identified by bite marks; the opportunistic
enrichment stage by Osedacoides; the sulfophilic stage, marked by modified vascular channels filled
with pyrite; and the reef stage, by Trypanites traces, which indicate colonization by organisms before
final burial. These findings enhance our understanding of the interactions between microorganisms and
mineralization in ancient marine vertebrates, and aid in reconstructing paleocommunities associated
with marine reptile falls, offering valuable insights into past ecosystem dynamics.

Abstract: This study evaluated the abundance of soil macrofauna by functional groups under different maize (Zea maysL.) residue management practices (buried, burned, and no-tillage) during 2018 and 2020 in the Lower Negro River Valley, Argentina. Macrofauna (>2 mm) was extracted using soil monoliths from plots with three treatments and replicates per year. Organisms were classified as ecosystem engineers, detritivores, herbivores, and predators. Additionally, soil variables such as moisture, bulk density, pH, electrical conductivity, and organic matter fractions were measured. A total of 869 individuals were collected, distributed across24 families and 10 orders. Ecosystem engineers were the most abundant group, followed by detritivore-herbivores and predators. The no-tillage treatment showed greater total abundance compared to other treatments. However, when considering interactions among functional groups, management, and year, engineers and predators exhibited lower abundance under no-tillage, though engineers significantly increased their abundance in this treatment between 2018 and 2020. Earthworms (Crassiclitellata) and isopods (Isopoda) were the most representative taxa. Soil pH negatively affected engineers, while electrical conductivity was positively associated with detritivores. After three consecutive cycles under these management practices, macrofauna abundance was not favored, and burned residue proved particularly detrimental. The proportions of functional groups and their temporal variation reflect the degree of soil disturbance and the availability and quality of trophic resources. In this context, no-till appears to be themanagement option with the least impact on soil macrofauna abundance

Título: Digitalización y sistematización de la información edáfica histórica del Valle Inferior del Río Negro, Argentina
Autor(es): Sylvester, Ana Paula; Neffen, Evelyn María; Bazzani, Julia Lucia
Abstract: In the Lower Río Negro Valley (VIRN), during the 1960s, soil surveys were carried out that made it possible to characterize and group soils according to similarities in their components (texture, drainage, parent material, geomorphology, among others), taking into account the different profile horizons. These surveys resulted in the delineation of 15 soil mapping units of the soil-association type, represented inprinted maps at a scale of 1:75,000, which are locally referred to as “soil series”. This information provided the technical basis for irrigation planning by the Lower Valley Development Institute (IDEVI). However, current access to these materials is limited due to their physical format and the partial loss of some original documents. In this context, the aim of this work was to digitize, georeference, and integrate the historical soil maps from IDEVI and their extension towards the coastal area into a unified Geographic Information System (GIS), covering a total area of 42,071 ha, using the open-source software QGIS. Autor(es): Capuano, Ana Maria; Naranjo, Cinthia; Benitez, Nidia
Abstract: This article examines how Argentine workers perceive distributive justice and social inequality amid recent socioeconomic changes. Through qualitative analysis of eight focus groups conducted across different regions of the country during the early months of 2024, the article explores social representations of fairness, the legitimization or questioning of inequality, and how these experiences relate to class structures and opportunities. Drawing on the theoretical contributions of Rawls, Dubet, Tilly, and Reygadas, participants’
narratives are interpreted to reveal both alignments and tensions regarding meritocracy, the role of the State, social mobility, and individual versus collective strategies in response to the crisis

Título: La transición energética y su impacto en el desarrollo tecno-productivo: el caso de la industria nuclear en Argentina (2006-2024)
Autor(es): Lugones, Manuel José
Abstract: The concern to promote an energy transition process opens new possibilities for innovation and market creation, which demands the development of public policies aimed at the development of technological solutions. In this framework, the nuclear industry is inserted in this process by promoting the development
of new reactor concepts aimed at complementing themselves with renewable generation sources. This work analyzes the development of the Argentine nuclear industry, taking as a starting point the decision adopted in 2006 to relaunching a nuclear development plan. In particular, it is interesting to identify what technological choices were made and provide evidence to analyze what challenges they face and what role the relatively less developed countries will play in said process.

Characterization of Protein Profiles and Their Role in Malting Quality of Commercial Barley Genotypes (Hordeum vulgare)

Título: Characterization of Protein Profiles and Their Role in Malting Quality of Commercial Barley Genotypes (Hordeum vulgare)
Autor(es): Zubillaga, María Fany; Martínez Díaz, María Eugenia; Morón Rivera, Miguel; Boeri, Patricia Alejandra; Piñuel, Maria Lucrecia
Abstract: n Argentina, the cultivation of malting barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) has expanded significantly, driven by the increasing demand of the brewing industry for barley malt. However, the predominance of the Andreia cultivar has reduced genetic diversity, increasing its vulnerability to environmental fluctuations and limiting the selection of new genotypes with desirable malting traits. Based on the hypothesis that significant biochemical variability exists among the commercial genotypes currently available in Argentina, this study provides the first comprehensive assessment integrating germination performance, protein content, hordein composition, and amylolytic enzyme activity in these genotypes. Twelve malting barley genotypes were evaluated under uniform growing conditions, and biochemical analyses were conducted on micromalted grains. Gel Electrophoresis revealed polymorphisms mainly in B- and C-hordeins, supporting genetic differentiation among cultivars. The total protein content ranged from 9.5% to 13.2%, whereas soluble hordeins varied from 5.8% to 12.9% of the total protein. α-Amylase activity values ≥ 150 U/g were observed in all cultivars evaluated, except for Sinfonía. However, amylolytic activity, which is related to diastatic power, was higher in genotypes such as Andreia, Alhue, Aliciana, and Jennifer. Correlations between protein content, enzyme activity, and hordein profiles indicated genotype-dependent biochemical patterns in the barley grains. Overall, this study highlights the existence of relevant biochemical diversity among Argentine commercial genotypes, providing valuable information for breeding programs aimed at improving malting quality and promoting productive diversification in the national barley industry.
