Un primer análisis comparativo del peso del turismo y los servicios intensivos en conocimiento en Bariloche: ¿una ciudad mono-productiva turística?

Abstract

Since the first decades of the nineteenth century, various authors have associated San Carlos de Bariloche with the image of "tourist city", at the same time that the character of "monoproduction" has been attributed to tourism. But in addition, Bariloche has been able to house other activities, whose development is due both to the dynamics of demographic growth sustained during the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, as well as to various public policies and private initiatives. Among these, it is worth highlighting the development of scientific and technological activities that today play an important role at the local, national and international level, such as the Balseiro Institute and the Bariloche Atomic Center, INVAP, Altec and a group of related companies. . This work aims to make a contribution to the debate on the relevance of the tourism sector in relation to the growing and dynamic sector of knowledge-intensive services.
