Abstract

In this paper I attend to a key chapter in the long history of state persecution of the radicalized political sectors in Argentina: the repression of communism during the early 30s, led by the Special Section of the Capital Police. The aim is to systematize and characterize its actions, denounced before Justice and the Parliament, and to investigate to what extent it implied (or not) a breaking point from the previous repression of the radicalized workers movement, taking into account its actions, the conceptions of the force and the legal framework involved. For that, I review the conceptions and the repressive actions since the beginning of the century, attending to the orientation of police documents during different periods. On the other hand, I analyze in particular the reactions of the different blocs of the Chamber of Deputies, which have not been explored yet.
