Abstract

The only people capable of facing their responsibility are those who have mastered the difficult art of acting in circumstances of ambivalence and uncertainty, born of difference and variety. (Bauman, Z. 1999, Globalization, human consequences) We are four weeks away from the start of this abrupt change in teaching modality higher, due to the stages of isolation, first voluntary and then compulsory, to face the COVID19 pandemic, in these global times. The challenge we face, those of us who have started classes and who do not want our students remain adrift, but rather commit to taking an active role in the face of The change is represented by virtuality for careers based on the trade, on learning doing, with the teacher as a guide. What virtuality means in project careers such as Architecture and Interior Design and furniture? Depending on what we are used to doing, in the first place, it means developing greater capacities of abstraction, means putting white on black the fixed points of teaching in the workshop, order goals and objectives and reflect on the teaching of the trade itself. Seeking clarity in praxis, I would say that first of all, the materiality of the classroom as a space physical is irreplaceable, but the challenge today is to try to create in virtuality a space that allow to carry out the workshop mode. Will it be possible? In order to answer this question, we should try to define what happens in the workshop, which is why it is so difficult, or represents so much work, to transport it to virtuality.
