| dc.description.abstract | Writer, polemicist, military man, President of the Nation, Domingo Sarmiento is a figure at the same time museological and cursed in Argentine history. Admired and hated, idolized in official events as a hero, he is, however, less understood today than he could have been in his time. We will put as a starting point for this work a hypothesis: Sarmiento is a figure of inescapable interest because it is the beginning and, at the same time, the highest point of a highly original Argentine tradition of understanding the relationship between political thought and practice: Sarmiento thought politics as a gesture. | es_ES |

Admirado y odiado, idolatrado en las efemérides oficiales como prócer es sin embargo, menos comprendido hoy que lo que lo pudo haber sido en su tiempo. Pondremos como punto de partida para este trabajo una hipótesis: Sarmiento es una figura de ineludible interés porque es el inicio y, al mismo tiempo, el punto máximo de una tradición argentina sumamente original de comprender la relación entre pensamiento y práctica política: Sarmiento pensaba a la política como gesto. | es_ES |
